Programme Overview

A brief introduction and each student is given a breakfast pack including fresh fruit, juice and pastries. Where appropriate tea and coffee is served throughout the morning.
Groups of around ten students engage in discussion with business representatives from all areas of commerce. We strive to achieve a balance between all the sectors, and are able to engage representatives from all the major employers in the area.
Students have the chance to ask the questions they really need to. How much does a barrister really earn; is working for yourself the best option; which industries offer the best opportunities to explore their interests.
The programme concludes after two hours. The students and business speakers are exhausted but feel a tremendous sense of satisfaction

Key skills developed include
Interpersonal Skills
Communication

Learner Outcomes This is the most effective way for students and businesses to engage in meaningful dialogue about the world of work. None of the stuffiness of a formal “talk” from a business person. Students are able to gain a broad overview and ask the specific questions they “always wanted to ask”.
