Welcome Back!

Hi.  If you're taking the time to read this then you are presently still dodging the situation, which is, you're back physically in school, but mentally/spiritually still on Holiday.  Console yourselves in the fact that at least upon stepping back into the schools, the sun hasn't blared out pelting us with very welcome UV rays...at least there's that!

But my main purpose was in reaching out to you folks to say, 'Welcome Back', we have missed you, it has been terribly lonely here without you ringing up talking abut enterprise and your plans - your next Enterprise Event - World Games Challenge - Business Breakfast - or maybe you have explored our pages and seen our new addition - Yes Minister -  our newest family member which revitalises politics (someone has to) for young people.  So, if you think you have the next Tony Blair, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher or Gordon Br(nevermind)own walking around your hallways, then let's get in touch and talk about Yes Minister coming to your school and having a town meeting!

Did not mean to turn this into an advertisement...so moving on, did I mention 'Welcome Back' teachers!  I did not mean to infer you may have a potential Gordon Brown lurking your halls either!

Next, at the Enterprise and Skills company we are always looking for the new idea or the next big thing or the hottest trend...so if you have been abroad or come across something HOT! Please let us know by following the link at the bottom of the page, we would love to hear from you.  We are still reeling from hearing about the shredder which sits atop your hamster tank, thus shredding old bills into new bedding! Wow, now that's technology.

Well, if you are in the browsing mood and interested in trying something new this year, I have included a couple of links, which will help you do just that...

1. Freecycle - a way to save landfills, be enterprising and share the wealth or rubbish with others check out your local group...www.uk.freecycle.org

2. Have you thought about teaching in the Socratic style this year?  Harkening back to the master, Socrates in this case, can be an extremely enterprising way of teaching Physics or in this case binary code.  Have a look, however, there are no warnings as to how to avoid the same fate of the great Socrates....www.garlikov.com/Soc_Meth.html

Hot tips or trends to point out....drop me a note
