Programme
Brief
The flagship programme of the Enterprise & Skills Company
explores the business realities of the 2012 Games.
In mixed ability groups, students take on the role of Countries with
their main aim to be the best Country of the day by competing in several
challenges – mini games, country presentations, innovation and
initiative. Students work to tight budgets, arranging transport and
hotels while preparing business-style presentations for sponsorship
money, which could be the difference between winning Silver or taking

Programme Overview
|
• Comprehensive
briefing lottery style selection of participating countries
• Students
prepare and present an overview of their sporting nation
• Budgets are
set, and ground rules re-emphasised. Financial bonuses and penalties
are awarded. Marketing and design tasks are set
• Teams of
athletes take part in ‘mini-games’ representing sporting events with
considerable cash flow implications
• Students book
flights and accommodation with our helpdesk
• Students
apply for sponsorship to one of a selection of International
benefactors, who in turn demand publicity

The day
concludes with a presentation by all sporting countries showcasing
their design work and financial achievements, culminating in a medal

Learner
Outcomes Students will learn that through proper delegation
and working to tight deadlines anything can be achieved that they set
their mind to. Students will learn about the inside dealings of the
2012 Games, the importance of Sponsorship and the presentation of Ideas.
This creative and competitive programme teaches that teamwork is the
synthesis of different people’s abilities working towards a collective
goal.
